Greg Hill created AV Genius, originally as a training company for Church AV techs. It was born out of the first “all digital” audio and video post-production studio in the Minneapolis area, which he designed and built himself. He was a musician his whole life and always had “studios” in his home.

Greg loved the whole AVL technical world and especially loved imparting his knowledge with those in the church who were hungry for information.

As churches started to ask Greg to buy, and then to install equipment, and then design systems for them, AV Genius became a full integration company.

In 2017, AV Genius moved to Texas, and his wife, Darla, came on board, full time to manage and run the business with “The Genius”. In a sad turn of events in 2022, Greg got sick and passed away unexpectedly in December at the age of 60.

With God’s grace and provision and other “AV Geniuses” coming forward, Darla continues to operate the company.

Greg leaves a lasting legacy of excellence, integrity, knowledge, and strong commitment to helping churches who often get overlooked. He is sorely missed.
